And Yet Another Endangered Species...

The plastic Pink Flamingo... iconic of many retirement communities and trailer parks nationwide... is no longer "reproducing in captivity."

The factory that has produced the notorious pink flamingo for 49 years is shutting its doors, due to the rising costs associated with producing the flamingo and other products.

This does not mean that the plastic pink flamingo is, by any means, facing extinction, as the bird is quite durable, lasting many years. Couple that fact with the number of undoubtedly well-meaning people who harbor up to several dozen of these critters in their yards, the plastic pink flamingo population probably won't notice an impact for another sixty years or so.
